​SPCA Selangor X IMAC KIDS’ ART COMPETITION 2026

The "Kids for Kindness" competition invites youth to create art promoting empathy and animal welfare. Top finalists will have their work sent to the Kanagawa Biennial in Japan, and champions become SPCA Junior Ambassadors.

Rules & Guidelines

  1. Eligibility

  • Open to all Malaysian students, aged 4 to 18 years old 

  • Participants will compete in the following five age categories:

    • 4 - 6 years old

    • 7 - 9 years old

    • 10 - 12  years old

    • 13 - 15 years old

    • 16 - 18 years old​​​​​

    2. Submission Rules

  • All entries must reflect the theme:  “A Kinder World Begins with Me”by highlighting kindness, empathy, compassion, or animal welfare.

  • Registration payment is compulsory, and late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted .

  • Artwork must be A3 size (29.7 cm x 42.0 cm) using only traditional drawing or painting tools .

  • Submit files in PDF, JPEG, or HEIC format with a clear title, ensuring no personal details appear on the artwork itself .

  • Strictly no digital art, AI-generated content, collages, or pasted materials are allowed .

  • Works must not contain words, slogans, logos, brand names, or closely resemble existing art .

  • Collaborative works and group submissions are prohibited.

  • Paintings on canvas are specifically prohibited.

  • Artwork unsuitable for general audiences, including violent or cruel depictions, is not allowed .

  • The organizer reserves the right to request verification if any artwork appears inconsistent with the participant's age level.

  • Participants retain copyright, but the organizer reserves the right to display entries for exhibition and promotion.

    3. Content Restriction

  • Entries must not include hate speech or discriminatory content

  • Excessive violence or graphic imagery is prohibited

  • Explicit adult content is not allowed

  • Highly sensitive or political themes must be avoided​

 Judging Criteria

1.Creativity

Judges will evaluate how original the idea is and how creatively the participant expresses it.

2.Relevance

The artwork must clearly reflect the theme and promote compassion or animal welfare.

3.Strucutre

This criteria looks at how well the artwork is arranged, balanced, neat, and visually organized.

4.Artistic Skill

Judges will assess the participant's control of their chosen medium, the overall workmanship, and the visible effort shown in the piece.

5.Overall Impact

The entry is judged on how strongly the artwork connects with viewers and effectively delivers its intended message.

6.Adherence to Guidelines & Format

Entries must strictly follow the format requirements, including using A3 size (29.7 cm x 42 cm), avoiding prohibited content (text/slogans on art), and using only accepted traditional mediums (no digital or collage).

Prizes & Recognition

  • All Participants: Receive a Participation Certificate delivered by post.

  • Champion: Trophy, Cash Prize, Certificate, and appointment as an SPCA Selangor Junior Ambassador.

  • 2nd & 3rd Place: Cash Prize and Certificate.

  • Consolation Winners: Cash Prize and Certificate.

  • International Exposure: All 125 finalists will have their artwork submitted to the Kanagawa Biennial World Children's Art Exhibition in Japan.

  • Adoption Opportunity: Winners are eligible to adopt a pet from SPCA Selangor.

  • Fee: RM 38 per participant (Includes entry submission and e-certificate)
